    CLARIFICATION ANNOUNCEMENT                                                
                                                                              
    The Board of the Company refers to the Announcement made by the           
    Company relating to the Placing and would like to clarify a               
    typographical mistake on the total number of shares issued immediately    
    after completion of the Placing which should be 2,072,177,166 instead     
    of 3,072,177,166.                                                         
                                                                              
    The board of directors (the "Board") of Gorient (Holdings) Limited        
    (the "Company") refers to the announcement dated 18 May 2005 made by      
    the Company ("Announcement") relating to the placing of new shares        
    under general mandate ("Placing") and would like to clarify a             
    typographical mistake on the total number of shares issued immediately    
    after completion of the Placing as set out in the table under heading     
    "Potential dilution to the shareholding of the independent                
    shareholders" of the Announcement which should be 2,072,177,166           
    instead of 3,072,177,166.                                                 
                                                                              
    The Board would like to convey its sincere apology in respect of the
