    Market participants are requested to note that the shareholders of China  
    Electronics Corporation Holdings Company Limited ("CHINA ELECTRON") have  
    approved the consolidation of shares on the basis of 8 then existing      
    ordinary shares ("Old Shares") of CHINA ELECTRON into 1 new ordinary      
    shares ("New Shares").  Effective from today (18/05/2005), a temporary    
    counter under stock code 2978 and stock short name "CH ELECTRON" will be  
    established for trading in board lots of 1,250 New Shares each to replace 
    the previous counter (stock code: 85) for trading in board lots of 10,000 
    Old Shares each.
