    3. Earnings per share                                                     
                                                                              
    The calculation of the basic earnings per share for the three months      
    ended 31 March 2005 is based on the unaudited consolidated profit         
    attributable to shareholders of approximately HK$9,438,000 (2004:         
    approximately HK$1,009,000) and the weighted average number of            
    555,244,000 (2004: 555,240,571) ordinary shares outstanding during        
    the periods.                                                              
                                                                              
    The calculation of the diluted earnings per share for the three           
    months ended 31 March 2005 is based on the unaudited consolidated         
    profit attributable to shareholders of approximately HK$9,438,000         
    (2004: approximately HK$1,009,000) and the weighted average number        
    of 586,307,073 (2004: 557,419,861 ordinary shares).                       
                                                                              
    4. Dividends                                                              
                                                                              
    The directors do not recommend the payment of any dividend for the        
    three months ended 31 March 2005 (2004: Nil).
