    3. Loss per share                                                         
    The calculation of the basic loss per share for the three months          
    ended 31st March, 2005 is based on the unaudited net loss of              
    approximately RMB5,632,000 (2004: net loss of approximately               
    RMB3,153,000) and the weighted average number of shares during the        
    period (three months ended 31st March 2005: 480,000,000 shares;           
    three months ended 31st March, 2004: 480,000,000 shares).                 
                                                                              
    Diluted earnings per share is not presented for the three months          
    ended 31st March, 2005 and 2004 as there were no potential                
    ordinary shares in issue during the relevant periods.
