       In 2004, the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants       
       (the "HKICPA") issued a number of new or revised Hong Kong             
       Accounting Standards and Hong Kong Financial Reporting                 
       Standards (herein collectively referred to as "new HKFRSs")            
       which are effective for accounting periods beginning on or after       
       1 January 2005.                                                        
                                                                              
       The financial information has been prepared in accordance with all     
       applicable  new HKFRSs issued by HKICPA, accounting principles         
       generally accepted in Hong Kong and the disclosure requirements of the 
       Hong Kong Companies Ordinance.                                         
                                                                              
       The financial information also complies with the applicable disclosure 
       requirements of the Growth Enterprise Market operated by The Stock     
       Exchange of Hong Kong Limited.                                         
                                                                              
       The measurement basis used in the preparation of the financial         
       information is historial cost modified by the marking to market of     
       certain investments in securities at the balance sheet date.
