    CLARIFICATION ANNOUNCEMENT                                                
                                                                              
    This announcement is made in response to an article published             
    in the Hong Kong Daily News on 6 May 2005 regarding the                   
    possible acquisition of a substantial interest in the                     
    Company by a certain Japanese-Korean joint venture company.               
                                                                              
    This announcement is made at the request of The Stock Exchange            
    of Hong Kong Limited.                                                     
                                                                              
    In response to an article published in the Hong Kong Daily                
    News on 6 May 2005 regarding the possible acquisition of a                
    substantial interest in the Company by a certain                          
    Japanese-Korean joint venture company, the board of                       
    directors of the Company (the "Board") makes this                         
    clarification announcement. The Board is not aware of any                 
    transaction of the nature mentioned in the press article that             
    involves the possible acquisition of a substantial interest               
    in the Company by certain Japanese-Korean joint venture                   
    company.                                                                  
                                                                              
    The Board has also noted the recent increase in the trading               
    volume of the shares of the Company and wishes to state that              
    the Board is not aware of any reasons for such increase.                  
                                                                              
    The Board also confirms that save as disclosed in this                    
    announcement, there are no negotiations or agreements                     
    relating to intended acquisitions or realisations which are               
    discloseable under Rule 13.23, neither is the Board aware                 
    of any matter discloseable under the general obligation                   
    imposed by Rule 13.09, which is or may be of a price-sensitive            
    nature.                                                                   
                                                                              
    Shareholders and investors of the Company are advised to                  
    exercise caution when dealing in the shares of the Company.               
                                                                              
    As at the date of this announcement, the executive Directors              
    are Mr. Chow Tak Hung (Chairman and Managing Director), Ms.
