    Note 1: Basis of Preparation                                              
                                                                              
    (a)     This interim financial results are unaudited, but have been       
    reviewed by KPMG in accordance with Statement of Auditing Standards 700 " 
    Engagements to review interim financial reports" issued by the Hong Kong  
    Institute of Certified Public Accountants ("HKICPA").                     
                                                                              
    The interim financial results have been prepared in accordance with the   
    requirements of the Rules Governing the Listing of Securities on The Stock
    Exchange of Hong Kong Limited, including compliance with Statement of     
    Standard Accounting Practice 25 "Interim financial reporting" issued by   
    the HKICPA.                                                               
                                                                              
    The financial information relating to the financial year ended 31 July    
    2004 included in the interim financial results do not constitute the      
    Company's statutory financial statements for that financial year but is   
    derived from those financial statements.  Statutory financial statements  
    for the year ended 31 July 2004 are available from the Company's          
    registered office.  The auditors have expressed an unqualified opinion on 
    those financial statements in their report dated 24 September 2004.       
                                                                              
    The same accounting policies adopted in the annual financial statements   
    for the year ended 31 July 2004 have been applied to the interim financial
    results except as disclosed under note 1(b).                              
                                                                              
    The notes on the interim financial results include an explanation of      
    events and transactions that are significant to an understanding of the   
    changes in the financial position and performance of the Group since the  
    annual financial statements for the year ended 31 July 2004.              
                                                                              
    The HKICPA has issued a number of new and revised Hong Kong Financial     
    Reporting Standards and Hong Kong Accounting Standards ("new HKFRSs")     
    which are effective for accounting periods beginning on or after 1 January
    2005.                                                                     
                                                                              
    The Company has not early adopted these new HKFRSs in the interim         
    financial results for the six months ended 31 January 2005.  The Company  
    has already commenced an assessment of the impact of these new HKFRSs but 
    is not in a position to state whether these new HKFRSs would have a       
    significant impact on its results of operations and financial position.
