    3. (Loss)/Earnings per share                                              
                                                                              
    The calculation of (loss)/earnings per share for the year                 
    is based on the loss attributable to shareholders of                      
    RMB1,068,000 (2003: net profit of RMB1,810,000) and on                    
    the weighted average number of 480,000,000 shares in                      
    issue for the years ended 31 December 2004 and 2003.                      
                                                                              
    Diluted (loss)/earnings per share for the years ended 31                  
    December 2004 and 2003 have not been calculated as there                  
    were no dilutive potential shares during the years ended                  
    31 December 2004 and 2003.
