    CLARIFICATION ANNOUNCEMENT                                                
                                                                              
                                                                              
    This announcement is made in order to correct certain information         
    contained in the Summary of Annual Report for 2004.                       
                                                                              
    Reference is made to the Summary of Annual Report for 2004 dated 10       
    March 2005 (the "Summary of Annual Report") of Jiangxi Copper Company     
    Limited (the "Company"). This announcement is made in order to correct    
    certain information contained in the Summary of Annual Report.            
                                                                              
    During the process of preparing the annual report and conducting          
    detailed examination of the Summary of Annual Report by the Company,      
    errors in relation to certain figures set out in the Summary of Annual    
    Report are discovered and are hereby corrected. The errors are due to     
    the oversight of the relevant person in the process of preparation of     
    the Summary of Annual Report.
