    Note 1                                                                    
    As a result of the adoption of the SSAP Interpretation 22 "The Appropriate
    Accounting Policies for Infrastructure Facilities", amortisation of toll  
    highway operation rights and depreciation of bridges of the Group are     
    provided for on the basis of a straight-line method.                      
                                                                              
    The adoption of the SSAP Interpretation 22 represents a change in         
    accounting policy, which requires retrospective adjustment to the         
    comparative figures of the last corresponding period.   Accordingly,  "   
    Profit from Operations" for the last corresponding period have been       
    adjusted from HK$402,975,000 to HK$445,030,000, "Profit after Taxation &  
    MI" and "Profit after ETD Items" from HK$822,082,000 to HK$830,064,000.
