    The proposed final dividend for the year is subject to the approval of the
    Company's shareholders at the forthcoming annual general meeting.         
                                                                              
    5.      EARNINGS PER SHARE                                                
                                                                              
    The calculation of basic earnings per share is based on the Group's profit
    attributable to shareholders of RMB402,917,000 (2003: RMB523,398,000), and
    the weighted average of 944,200,000 (2003: 693,212,602) shares in issue   
    during the year, as adjusted to reflect the capitalisation issue of 472,  
    100,000 shares on 1 February 2005.                                        
                                                                              
    There were no diluting events existed during the year and therefore a     
    diluted earnings per share amount has not been disclosed.
