    At the request of Shimao China Holdings Limited (the "Company"), trading  
    in its shares has been suspended with effect from 9:30 a.m. today         
    (7/3/2005) pending the clarification with the Stock Exchange and the      
    publication of a further announcement on matters relating to the business 
    delineation and the non-competition undertaking as previously announced on
    23 February 2005.
