    At the request of Shimao China Holdings Limited (the "Company"), trading  
    in its shares has been suspended with effect from 9:30 a.m. today         
    (21/2/2005) pending the publication of an announcement for each of (1) the
    business delineation between the Company and Shimao Property Holdings     
    Limited and the entering into by the Company of a non-competition         
    undertaking and (2) the entering into by the Company of a major and       
    connected transaction.
