    one of the Joint Global Coordinators has entered into the Stock           
    Borrowing Agreement with Foxconn Far East on Sunday, January 30, 2005     
    in relation to borrowing up to 130,410,000 Shares to effect               
    settlement of any over-allocations under the International Offering.      
    The Joint Global Coordinators may exercise the Over-allotment Option,     
    borrow Shares under the Stock Borrowing Agreement or make purchases       
    in the secondary market to cover over-allocations under the               
    International Offering. If the Over-allotment Option is exercised, a      
    press announcement will be made. The amount of net proceeds as a          
    result of exercising the Over-allotment Option in full (based on the      
    actual Offer Price) would be approximately HK$490.8 million.              
    Accordingly, the aggregate net proceeds if the Over-allotment Option      
    is exercised in full (based on actual Offer Price) would be               
    approximately HK$3,760.1 million.                                         
                                                                              
    The Company confirms that after completion of the Global Offering,        
    the number of Shares in the hands of the public will satisfy the          
    minimum percentage prescribed by Rule 8.08 of the Listing Rules.          
                                                                              
    BASIS OF ALLOCATION                                                       
                                                                              
    Subject to the satisfaction of the conditions set out in the              
    paragraph headed `Conditions of the Public Offer' under the section       
    headed `Structure of the Global Offering' in the Prospectus, all of       
    the 260,820,000 Public Offer Shares as adjusted after clawback            
    available for application on white, yellow and pink Application Forms     
    and through giving electronic application instructions to HKSCC will
