    At the request of Guangnan (Holdings) Limited (the "Company"), trading    
    in its shares has been suspended with effect from 9:30 a.m. today         
    (1/2/2005) pending the release of the announcement in respect of a        
    transaction entered into by Zhongyue Industry Material Limited (a wholly- 
    owned subsidiary of the Company) on 31st January, 2005 which constitutes a
    major transaction of the Company according to the Rules Governing the     
    Listing Securities on The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited.
