    5.      Loss per share                                                    
                                                                              
    The calculation of basic loss per share is based on the net loss          
    attributable to the shareholders for the year of approximately HK$341,083 
    ,000 (2002: HK$133,856,000), and the weighted average number of           
    approximately 2,561,167,000 (2002: 2,292,473,000) ordinary shares in issue
    during the year.                                                          
                                                                              
    There were no dilutive potential shares during the year ended 31 December 
    2003, therefore, no diluted loss per share has been presented.            
                                                                              
            Diluted loss per share for the year ended 31 December 2002 has not
    been presented, as the share options and warrants outstanding during the  
    year ended 31 December 2002 had an anti-dilutive effect on the basis loss 
    per share for that year.                                                  
                                                                              
    6.      The Company is applying to the High Court for the approval of     
    laying before the 2003 AGM the 2003 annual results of the Company under   
    section 122 of the Companies Ordinance.
