Hakkas as catalysts and glue for a United China

I have always believed that the Hakkas have a special place in Chinese history because their loyalty to China always supercedes their loyalty to their  place of birth. In the past they were the wandering heroes from the days of Hong Xiuqian to more modern day Sun Yatsen and other revolutionaries like Zhu De, Ye Jianying and Deng Xiaoping.

Now, with some Taiwanese calling for a total break from China, the future is fraught with danger for both the Mainland and Taiwan. Independence for Taiwan will only benefit those out to destroy China. It is a refreshing news to learn that a brave Taiwanese and Hakka, Wu Po-hsiung, vice-chairman of Taiwan's Kuomintang Party, is making a landmark visit to China. BBC reported that he is expected to meet with China's Vice-Premier, Qian Qichen, and may hold talks with China's President Jiang Zemin.
