You can fly to MeiZhou from Hong Kong in less than an hour and take about 3 hours
taxi ride to Wu Liao cost about RMB300 to 400
 
 2. Where is nearest International Airport & Domestic Airport to Dabu?
MeiZhou is the closest Airport to Dabu, ShenZhen, GuangZhou, and Hong Kong are
the closest International Airports.
 3. In fact, we are visiting Guangzhou too, is it possible to get there from Guangzhou where we have reliable driver/ people who can bring us leisurely across to Dabu ( by roads -- is highway established / safe? How long via land?) -- say we go from Guangzhou to Shantou, then to Fujian (sightseeing along the way -- we have set aside 2 full weeks for this, minus HK).
I suggest that you fly to MeiZhou from GuangZhou, ShenZhen, or Hong Kong and take a taxi to
Wu Liao. The Bus ride from GuangZhou or ShenZhen to Shantou is pretty good while from
Shantou is Wu Liao is pretty rocky and takes about 5 hours. The coach ride from ShenZhen
to Shantou takes 3 and half hours on international standard freeways.
 4. By the way, where is best sites to see traditional Hakka houses & life (is it found in Dabu too)?For the sake of comfort, it is better to stay at MeiZhou to see the traditonal Hakka houses & life while
it is not too bad either to stay at Wu Liao and visits the surroundaing villages. I like the later because
you can see more hills and rivers. Dabu is also known as a county with tens of thousand streams.
 
 Please kindly advise urgently so we can plan! If possible, please advise e-sites where we can visit to know more about above places.
