Same Surname Marriages..(correction)

Clem,

I don't think thats a problem..
you see my cousin Amy Married a Shanghai Zhang, and she's a Hakka
Cheung/Tsong..I don' tthin there is anything wrong with it..except confusion
when pronounced in mandarin..:-)

Now it would of course be taboo if we married Cheungs who WERE Hakka,
because I believe that there is only One lineage that represents the Hakka
Cheungs. The rest of the lineages are probably scattered in the North and
never accomplished much.

I believe Amy's Husband belongs to another Cheung Line, but i haven't asked
if Amy ever inquired into her Husbands Lineage.

Hope that clears up your question..

BUT, on my mothers side, my Mothers Youngest sister, married another
Taiwanese, who had the Surname of Chen, I don't know if This Chen was
related to OUR Chen..But you know..Taiwan is So damn full of Chens and Lins,
that it gets confusing after awhile. Our Family trees must look like a mess
of Chens and Lins which it is.

Sherman
