Sydney Olympics

Hi friends,

You must be watching the Sydney Olympics as much as I have. It's amazing
to see what those athletes can do!

Most of us probably are very proud of the athletes from China. In fact,
it was very difficult for me to choose between cheering for the Chinese
athletes or athletes from my country of residence. I think the Olympics
with all it's good intentions can divide rather than  unite all the
people of the world. It's current format of competition between nations
can easily foster jealousy and hostility. When I was watching the parade
of nations, I couldn't help but think that those poorer nations were
very much under-represented.

But like anything else the good probably outweigh the bad. What do you
think?
