Dr. Lee is quite right. Ya and Man are two
different characters in the written Chinese language, even though they
both have similar meaning relating to Night. The above character is
Ya.
It's more common though in Moiyan Hakka to use Ya
to mean Night rather than Man. But the character in the poem is definitely Man
written below.
