Prehistory and Chinese Origins
Thank you Henrieta Akit for your mail and interest. Same for Jonathan.
Who knows much about Chinese origins before the Xia and Shang Dynasty? Much
of that past is immersed in mythology and legends. The cradle of Chinese
civilization begins in the northwest, near the banks of the Yellow River.
The Chinese race begins with a legendary founder and conquerer by the name
of Huangdi (Yellow Emperor). Much is not known of him, besides legends and
myth.
>From an anthropological point, the ancient Chinese were closest to modern
Tibetans and Thai people. Chinese and Tibetans lived close ancient Turkish
nomads and Indo-European nomads/farmers. In Xinjiang, they have found
mummies from over 6,000 years ago. And, these mummies exhibit physical
traits such as red hair and European features.
Around 4,000 years ago, they now found pottery types in China, Iran, Armenia
and eastern part of Turkey that share identical shapes and styles. This is
termed the Yangshao and Lungshan cultures. This was the first instance of
mixing between Chinese and Middle East cultures/peoples.
