Poems and songs about TAIPING (1)

The Taiping Heavenly Kingdom was a Hakka Kingdom ?. Due to the fratricide
among its generals this Kingdom was crushed by the Qing Government with
the helps from the Western Powers.

I will try to translate them into English and I hope someone will correct
my translations, especially Dr SL Lee who is well known in translating
Chinese poems to English.

Poem 詩

 金田崛起奮同仇,    嘆息英雄志末酬﹔
 又見腥膻渺無際﹐ 秦淮嗚咽水空流。

In Jin Tian village, in Gui Ping county (桂平縣) of Guangxi province
(廣西省), the revolution began with the purpose to avenge the common
enemy. Alas, before the heroes aspirations were achieved, the Tartars
(Manchus) recommenced their endless disturbances. We sobbed out our
unfulfilled aims which were like the water in Qin Huai River (which flows
through Nanjing city) flowing endlessly.
