Comments on the Hakka homepage
Dear Sir,
Firstly, I would like to thank you for creating such a wonderful homepage about the Hakka and write it with great respect. I might not have the chance to finish reading the full article but I am definitely impressed with the history of Hakkas, its colourful and impressive history.
Though I am a Chinese born in Singapore, I am not exposed to the history of my own dialect which is such a pity because every single bit of information I have read enrich my knowledge towards my understanding of my dialect and made me realise how important it can be to know about the history. I can say that my family is a traditional family and till today preserve many traditional values which is uncommon especially when this is the 21 century and all of us are living in such a contemporary society. Even though, my family are involved in the Hakka clan in Singapore, I must say that perhaps none of us know anything or very little about the history of our own dialect. The language seems very familar to us but never did we realise that the Hakkas have such close connection with the Japanese. It almost seems to be impossible to believe and yet so true. Thanks a lot for providing me with such information.
I was doing a Psychology research on Culture when I come across your homepage. I would love to share this piece of information with my family back in Singapore. Thank you.
Regards,
Ms. Stephanie Wong
