Dapeng/Taibung dialect

Dear Jason,

Up to now I have some idea of your father's language, and I suspect that it
belongs to the family of "Jianmi" dialects, which is an offshoot of the
Huizhou Bendihua. Before I am dead sure, I want further imforamtion about
the pronunciations of:

1. society (disyllabic), is the first syllable spoken the same as
A. "diarrhea" B. "shot" C. "sand" D. neither of A, B, C.
2. drought, is it the same sound as
A. the first syllable of the "Chinese race" B. "to look after" C. sweat"
3. mother's brother, is it spoken the same as
A. "deduce" or, B. "old" as in "old book", or C. mix
4. sit, is it spoken the same as
A. "wrong" (tso)? B. same as the first syllable of the first day of the
lunar month? (tso-yat?) C. neither A nor B
5. look
6. stand
7. elephant
8. healthy (disyllabic)

Question 1 to 4 is crucial to the identification of your dialect. Please be
careful in judging the tones. Unfortunately, I cannot get a recorded speech
of your language, otherwise it will be easiler for me to judge. Put the
answer together with this questionsheet on the forum, too. thank you.
