Re. Save Hakka

Dear friends,

It's apparent what Zinfad wish to accomplish with his proposal of
creating a Jiaying Province is to stop further assimilation of Hakkas by
the majority people of the provinces where Hakkas live. We must bear in
mind that the assimilation of Hakkas by the majority had been purely
voluntary, probably economically driven and through no fault of the
majority. I don't know if this trend can be reversed as long as Hakkas
are always small minorities whereever they migrate to.

But I see merit in Zinfad's proposal in the sense that a Jiaying
Province will be like a Hakka homeland. It can be a rallying point for
all Hakkas no matter where they live. I would also assume that the Hakka
language will be officially recognised, taught in schools, spoken with
pride both at home and in public, radio and TV programs, etc. All of
that will ensure the survival of the Hakka language and culture.  

It's an ideal. Where and how can it be done?
