Douglas,

We cannot determine whether one is Hakka by just the name. It is more or less a
self identification. Guang Ning is not a 100% Hakka town. It lies on the north
tributary of Pearl River.  Most Hakka are from the East tributory, but some very
old Hakkas are in the north tributary. I am posting your letter and my answer to
the forum and mailist.  Hope some one else may also respond to your
