Hakka Trades

Hello,
I'm Eunice Low, a secondary student from Singapore and I, with a small group of 6 friends,
will be doing an internet webpage project on Local Hakkas. I've noticed that Hakka Trades is
an uncommon topic in this forum, but I would like to inquire about the trades that local
Hakkas did while they were in Singapore. For starters, I have only obtained a minimal
information concerning the common trades that were carried out then and is still carrying out
now.
A few jobs that were carried out then and now includes the import of cloth, medical halls
(which is still surviving strong in Singapore), cloth factories, mosquito nets, men's tailor,
trading and businesses, fruits and daily goods stores, pawn shops and optical shops.
I am not sure if these information is accurate but I hope that I can, from this forum, attain
more information that may help clarify the topic or furthur expand the contents of the
webpage. I would appreciate if I could be informed of helpful references such as books,
webpages or additional information (in any forms of media) available out there that I may be
able to dig up resources from as I need them rather urgently. Addresses of shops are most
welcomed as I would be able to interview the owners first hand. I am really grateful for your
time and help.
	Thank you once again.

Yours Sincerely,
Eunice Low
