The local papers here ran a story on David Wu. Although he is from 
Hsinchu,
Taiwan, his ancestry is actually Suzhou, Jiangsu.

So he is a Waisenren....his ancestors swam ashore to Taiwan...probably 
gave trouble to the Taiwanese who were there before.
