Call For Votes : sci.lang.chinese
Dear Friends, Hakka Forum Members and Readers,
Today, the Call for Votes on the creation of a new newsgroup, sci.lang.chinese
begins. There is a copy of the ballot at the follwoing places:
news:sci.lang.japan
news:news.newgroups
news:news.announce.newgroups
under the following details
SUBJECT FROM DATE SIZE
CFV: sci.lang.chinese Neil Crellin 25/11/98 02:22 185 lines
There are instructions which guide you in how to vote. The ballots cannot be
distributed, so each and every interested person, needs to go to one of the above
groups. The last named group in the above list has the shortest number of
messages to sift through, therefore easiest to locate the above ballot.
If you have problems, then I am always on hand to assist.
I also wish to add that the creation of this group aids in understanding the
Chinese language as a whole, and Hakka has a place in it. Chinese currently is
dominated by Mandarin and we must make every effort to show the importance of our
living dialect. Please support this vote with a YES vote.
You need only vote once, though there are two ballots. At the end of the voting
period, the results will be announced in the newsgroups above, and if successful,
then there will be a short delay before accessibility to news:sci.lang.chinese so
please bear with us. Accessibility will also depend on your local news-servers
so, if after a week or two, and no joy, then you can ask your local ISP for
access.
Many thanks,
Dylan Sung.
