HK movie star learnt that he is a Hakka

In a recent newspaper report in Taiwan, Jordan Chan (Chen Xiaochun), of Gu
Waa Zai (Young and Dangerous) fame, learnt that he is a Hakka. He was told
by his father that his great-grandfather (surname Li) was given to a Chen
family as the family was poor. They were Hakkas from Dang4Shui3 (Plain
Water? County Name?) from Guangdong Province.
It is interesting to know that there may be many non-Hakkas nowadays who
may have Hakka ancestry because the regions occupied by Hakkas in China
(even today) are mainly infertile lands. Many have probably moved to the
fertile land and become assimilated with the locals. The trend is probably
still continuing.
