Hello Lissa,
I think you surname is Long2.
---------------------------------------------------------------
Chinese surname No.256 Long2.
Long2 means : the dragon.
e.g. Long2 Zi3 means : dragon seeds (Chinese).
Surname Long2 is about 4000 years old.
Abstract: Surname Long2 was originated in an area which was called the
Wu3 Ling2 Prefecture during the Han Dynasty (206BC to 220AD).
Wu3 means: militay; armed.
Ling2 means: a high mound.
The present day location of Wu3 ling2 Prefrcture
is in Chang2 De2 county in Hunan province China.
Chang2 means: always; ever.
De2 means: virtue, goodness.
To the Chinese the dragon is not an evil creature, but is a god and
the friend of men who worship him. He 'holds in his power prosperity and
peace.' Ruling the waters and the winds, he sends the good rain, and is
hence the symbol of fecundity. In the Hsia (Xia4) dynasty two dragons
fought a great duel until both disappeared, leaving only a fertile foam
from which were born the descendants of the Hsia (Chinese). Thus the
dragons came to be looked upon as the ancestors of a race of heroes.

According to Chinese historical records Si4 Wen2 Ming4 founded the
Xia4 Dynasty (2205BC to 1766BC). Si4 Qi3 his elder son succeeded him as
the leader of the Xia4 people. According to tradition the leadership was
elected and not inherited from the father, Si4 Qi3 changed the rules of
succession which became inheritable. Si4 Qi3 died in 2188BC and his elder
son Si4 Tai2 Kang succeeded him as the leader.
Si4 Tai2 Kang was a man obsessed in hunting. One day he led his army
out for hunting and wondered far and away from his domain. He did not
realized that he had ventured into the land of a rival tribe called You3
Qiong2 (present day Tong Gu3 village near Luoyang city in Henan province).
Hou4 Yi4 the leader of this tribe was furious. He cut off the road of
homeward bound for Si4 Tai2 Kang who was defeated in a battle by Hopu4
Yi4. Si4 Tai2 Kang fled to Zhen Xun2 (present day Gong3 Xian4 in Henen
province).
Hou4 Yi4 led his army and occupied the Xia4 capital. He installed Si4
Zhong4 Kang, the younger brother of Si4 Tai2 Kang as the puppet ruler of
Xia4. Si4 Zhong Kang died in 2146BC and his son Si4 Xiang4 became the
new ruler of Xia4. But Hou4 Yi4 dethroned him and installed himself as
the ruler of Xia4. Si4 Xiang4 fled to Zhen Guan4 (present day Cao2 Xian4
in Shandong province).
Hou4 Yi4 entrusted military power to his army general Han3 Zhuo2
who later overthrew Hou4 Ti4 and had him killed. General Han3 Zhuo2
married Hou4 Yi4's wife and the couple had two sons.
In 2120BC when the two sons had grown up General Han3 Zhuo2 ordered
them to conquered the two territories of Zhen Xun2 and Zhen Guan4 where
the two dethroned rulers were living. Si4 Tai2 Kang had already died of
old age long before the General Han3 Zhuo2' sons arrived to conquer.
However Si4 Xiang was still alive and he was killed in the battle by the
two Han3 brothers.
The brothers occupied the palace of Si4 Xiang4. His pregnant wife of
escaped death by clawing through a hole in the palace wall. She hid in a
village. After a few months she gave birth to a baby boy who was named
Si4 Shao3 Kang.
When Si4 Shao3 Kang grew up he was aimlessly wondering around without
a home base of his own. Finally he settled down in Pu2 Ban3 (present day
Yong Ji4 in Shanxi province). Yao2 Si the ruler of this place married his
two daughters to Si4 Shao3 Kang and gave him a large plot of land to
cultivate. However Si4 Shao3 Kang did not want to be a farmer for all his
life. While he was farmer he secretly congregated the remnants of his
father's and grandfather's followers. He planned to restore his ancestors'
kingdom. He begot two sons.
In 2079BC Si4 Shao3 Kang led his followers to battle against Han3
Zhuo2. He defeated and killed Han3 Zhuo2 in a decisive battle at An Yi
(present day Xia4 Xian4 in Shanxi province). Si4 Shao3 Kang restored the
Xia4 Dynasty. He established his capital in An Yi.
One of Si4 Shao3 Kang's sons called Long2 remained in Pu2 Ban3. After
Long2's death his children adopted LONG2 as their surname in remenbrance
of Long2
