Is Chinese Surname Lan (Lam2) Hakka only?

Dear Dixie,

The Surname Lan (Hakka rponunciation: Lam2, meaning blue) is not a PURE
Hakka surname. A female colleage here (HKPU) from Southern Hubei (Her
Hometown is quite near the Yangtze) also has this surname, but she knows
nothing of our Hakka language and culture. She is quite amazed by my
explanation that Hakka is an important group in Guangdong and South China.
However, she has nothing to do with Hakka even under the loosest criteria.
She also says that there are a lot of people with this surname in her hometown.

Therefore, the surname Lan (Lam2) is not limited to Hakka alone.
