Famous Hakkas
Dear Dixie,
I am impressed and fascinated by your knowledge of so many famous
Hakkas. But to say that XYZ is a Hakka does not help me or the
preservation of the Hakka culture unless it is also noted about their
personal contributions towards elevating the social consciousness
regarding Hakka culture.
As a non-Hakka, I would like to know how all these great Hakka leaders
and business people (that you have mentioned on the Hakka Forum)
contribute towards the preservation and propagaton of Hakka culture so
that other minority groups like Taishanese, Cantonese, Min, Zhuang etc.
can learn from their successes.
Also, I am also curious on your position on the origin of modern day
Cantonese people and whether or not the Guangdong Hakkas share the same
Tang/Han cultural infusions as did the Cantonese.
Thanks.
Yours sincerely,
Charles Louie
