(The 3rd International Conference on Hakka Dialect)

I would like to announce that the 3rd International Conference on Hakka
Dialect will be held in Shaoguan, Guangdong from September 23-26, 1998 in
Shaoguan, Guangdong. Shaoguan is situated in Northern Guangdong, about 200
km north of Guangzhou (Canton). Hakka is spoken in the suburb of the city,
but inside the town area the lingua franca is Cantonese. 

Anyone who lkie to contribute an article are invited to write a summary of
less than 500 Chinese characters on an A4 paper, with affiliation, contact
address and telefone number and send it before July 1, 1998 to
