This book, in English, The Crippled Tree by Dr Han Suyin, who is a Hakka
herself, is a about her Chou Hakka family, could be useful to your work.
It was first published in 1965 in Great Britain by Jonathan Cape Limited.
There are a few postings in this Forum about The Crippled Tree.
