Connection between Hakka and Korean

Concerning the connection between Hakka and Korean, there seems to be a
link here.

Years ago my husband and I spent a year in Korea. We learned some basic
Korean during that time. Three years later we moved to Taiwan to begin to
study Mandarin and then Hakka.

Before we knew even one word of Hakka, we occasionally attended a
Hakka-speaking church in Taipei. The first Sunday we went there, we were in
a fog. We could not understand Mandarin or Hakka yet, and most of the
service was in Hakka. But occasionally we were surprised to hear words that
were familiar, such as school (hok-kau / hak-kyo), minister (muk-su:/mok-sa
plus an ending), and pray (khi-to/ki-do plus a Korean ending). Have
linguists tried to trace similarities in  these languages?
