     Hi,
     
     The Television Corporation of Singapore (TCS), Channel 5 (Chinese 
     Channel) is putting up a 30 part drama serial, entitled "The Guest 
     People" - Kejia Sange, with its debut tonight 11Nov.
     
     The drama focuses on the trials and tribulations of the Hakka in 
     turbulent post-war Singapore right up to its independence in 1965.
     
     Part of the location was done in Yuding and Dapu in China.
     
     Previously TCS has put up drama serials on the other Chinese dialect 
     immigrant groups, namely the Cantonese and Teowchew. The Hakka dialect 
     group is the third in this series.
     
     The TV drama will be in Mandarin, though there'll be a sprinkling of 
     spoken Hakka, and some Hakka folk songs.
