Subject: HGN mailing-list new home!
Date: Wed, 07 May 1997 20:08:43 -0700
From: "Nam c. Low" <nclow@vtc.edu.hk>
Organization: vtc
To: hakka@brooklaw.edu

As most of you have noted that Mr.Teoh cannot use his email account
to post the moderated articles/emails to the 191 HGN mailing-list
members anymore. This list has been transfer to SL Lee, Fran Chin,
and me for the continuity of services. Fran Chin is happy to take
up the automatic mailing-list maintainence and operation services and
SL Lee will continue his efforts on the Hakka Forum and Web-Sites
services.

For simplicity and swift operations, I decided NOT to moderated
articles post by our members at this point of time. Unless there
is a great demand for moderation of the posted articles, I shall
try to solicit two more members, besides me, as the moderators
of the posted articles of this mailing-list.

All of the 191 HGN mailing-list members have been transferred to
this mailing-list server automatically by Fran Chin.

You DO NOT need to subscribe again! Just post your articles to:

        hakka@brooklaw.edu

For NEW members who wish to join or leave this mailing-list the
following instructions may be helpful:

> The administrative address is "hakka-owner@mini.brooklaw.edu"

> To subscribe, send to majordomo@brooklaw.edu with the following body: subscribe hakka email@domain.edu

> A verification message will be sent back. You MUST send back the code in the message back to majordomo@brooklaw.edu
to confirm that you are the person subscribing.

> To unsubscribe, send to majordomo@brooklaw.edu with the following body: unsubscribe hakka email@domain.edu

> The only other rule is that you must be a member of the list to post a message. Non-member submissions will be automatically bounced to
  the list administrator for approval.

If you have any questions/suggestions/comments, please send them to me
at the following email address:

        nclow@ibm.net

The administrative address:

        hakka-owner@mini.brooklaw.edu

which is looking after by Fran Chin, is for the automatic mailing-list
operation ONLY.

Rgds,
Nam Low

P.S. Since the transferred members may not have the opportunity or do
not aware of some of the features of majordomo automatic mailing-
list server, I extract some of the useful commands for your
        references:

----------------------------extraction-----------------------------------------
This is the "Majordomo" mailing list manager, version 1.94.1.

In the description below items contained in []'s are optional. When
providing the item, do not include the []'s around it. Items in angle
brackets, such as <address>, are meta-symbols that should be replaced
by appropriate text without the angle brackets.

It understands the following commands:

    subscribe [<list>] [<address>]
Subscribe yourself (or <address> if specified) to the named <list>.

    unsubscribe [<list>] [<address>]
Unsubscribe yourself (or <address> if specified) from the named <list>.
"unsubscribe *" will remove you (or <address>) from all lists. This
_may not_ work if you have subscribed using multiple addresses.

    get [<list>] <filename>
Get a file related to <list>.

    index [<list>]
Return an index of files you can "get" for <list>.

    which [<address>]
Find out which lists you (or <address> if specified) are on.

    who [<list>]
Find out who is on the named <list>.

    info [<list>]
Retrieve the general introductory information for the named <list>.

    intro [<list>]
Retrieve the introductory message sent to new users. Non-subscribers
may not be able to retrieve this.

    lists
Show the lists served by this Majordomo server.

    help
        Retrieve this message.

    end
Stop processing commands (useful if your mailer adds a signature).

Commands should be sent in the body of an email message to
"majordom@mini.brooklaw.edu" or to "<list>-request@mini.brooklaw.edu".

The <list> parameter is only optional if the message is sent to an address
of the form "<list>-request@mini.brooklaw.edu".

Multiple commands can be processed provided
each occurs on a separate line.

Commands in the "Subject:" line are NOT processed.

If you have any questions or problems, please contact
"Majordomo-Owner@mini.brooklaw.edu".
