For your reference, LIM is pronounced like a Hakka name. But I don't think=

the same surname-"Lin" in Maderin. As for your grandfather's originality, I=

In MeiNong, Taiwan, we have a large group of Hakka people(99% of all the=20
population). But more and more foreign bridges, who mostly came from=
 Indonesia=20
and Phillipine, got married and settled down in MeiNong. Their living and=20
culture difference mingled in convention Hakka culture, and had brought
attention to public recently. I wonder if this a backward-migration from=20
South-Eastern Asia to China, like most Chinese did in 18 & 19th centuries.
