Your email originated in Singapore. I think it is easier for you to talk to
the local people. For telephone number and fax number, pls refer to the
reply I answer for the other HGNetter.

Try to come to The 3rd International Conference on Hakkaology that held together
with Hakka World Gathering but at different locations in Singapore. I will give
a talk on:
"On the Shifting of Hakka Diaspora Paradigm"
We can discussion your concerns there then.
Globally, try to get into out HGN mailinglist
teoh@cs.utk.edu (You probably are in here already)
or
sslee's Hakka Forum Homepage:
http://www.asiawind.com/pub/forum/fhakka/msgs/
The transformation of Hakka clans in Singapore/Malaysia (By the way, I was born in
Malaysia, Ipoh) will take time, initiatives, and cooperation. This is one of my
motive in starting the HGN about 2 years ago with other members on the mailinglist.
Homepages have been set up. sslee's homepage has the most links to many other homepages.
If you are Taipu Hak, try on mime at:
http://www.hkstar.com/~nclow/
You can even hear a Taipu's Hakka Mountain Song, after some decoding on the
downloaded files.
The clans had and is still serving the Hakka communities but less significantly
since the demands are diminishing too. There are Youth Sections in most of the
clans, I believe, but they are justing following older generation traditions in
a number of aspects except with younger people for young people activities.
We need new bloods and new ideas. Maybe, I shall promoting every clan shall
have a pc with internet access in the clan as a startup. Money is not the
problem for most of the clans, I believe. The maintenance and administration
are big jobs for them. This inspire me that we the HGNetter shall volunteer
the supportive role for the clans through the internet.
Can we set up an internet HOT-LINE for Hakka clans around the globe so that
they can maintain and administrate
the PCs at ease?
Well, this looks like my next project. Any supporters?
If I can collect enough supports, I will propose the idea to the Chairmen of all
the clans world-wide. Just the Hong Kong originated Tsung Tsing chain and the
Singapore/Malaysia clans of each major towns will be too many for few of us to
handle already. Assume I can get few supporters. We need an economic/standard
platform for them as well a plan that will work globally, otherwise the supportive
roles will be like nightmares.

Nam Low
