Posting to the forum
Dear Hakka netters,
In case some of you are still not sure how to post msg to the Hakka forum and
participate in the maillist, let me repeat that you can do both with just one
email.
Please store the forum address "fhakka@asiawind.com" in your addressbook and
give it an easy alias so you don't need to type that out everytime. Note that
now you don't have to include the word "mail" after @.
To post in forum and send msg to HGN maillist, you can enter the following in
the mail header:
To: fhakka@asiawind.com,teoh@cs.utk.edu
or,
To: teoh@cs.utk.edu
Cc. : fhakka@asiawind.com
If you are already reading at the forum, you can go to the header and click
"to write" to "Hakka" forum and then in the Cc. part include Jonathan Teoh's
email address. Again, this will go to both.
The posting at the forum is within 30 minutes and your name appears on it
as the contributor. From now on, I will NOT forward msg to the forum
except for newcomers. But I DO respond maillist msg in the forum.
I emphasize strongly that I DO NOT sensor any messages NOR control the forum.
There is no mechanism to do that either. All messages are posted AS IS by an
automated computer program. I only provide the forum to everybody, Hakka or
non-Hakka. All moderation of forum msg are done after-the-fact by Jonathan
Teoh. All he would do (and I hope all he will have to do) is to gently remind
people of the charter and bring back any digression.
I was one of the first to respond to Jonathan's message on soc.culture.china
to start up the Hakka Global Network maillist, and have participated in the
discussion since. I am just like everybody else in the group, although I do
write more and respond faster.
