Re: confusion
Dear Dr. Lee:
When you said "I think Mr. Chu is confused-----", it is an
accusation. You have no evidence. I didn't use the term Chinese Min-zu
either. I merely said many people from Tibet and Sin-Tsiang won't agree to
be called either as Chinese or as Zhonghua Min-zu. Prime ministers Li Peng
and Lee K.Y. had different opinions about the definition of Chinese.
I believe it is general decency and courtesy, to let other people
read the original letter in total first before you post your answer. The
Hakka forum is totally under your control. My letters were not posted and
you already posted your answers at least three times in the row. If this is
your policy, please don't forward my letter in GHN to Hakka forum anymore
and please post your answer in GHN only.
Lo siang-lin's book on the origin of Hakka is a classic. The
methodology of using Tsu-p'u is not very scientific. In the letter to Ekki,
you indicated you did not have that book. You can buy that book easily from
the information provided in your Homepage about Hakka. It is still very
worthwhile to read that book. Many discussion in this classic will not be
outdated. This book also provided a lot of references.
Thank you. Jen-yih Chu
