Noh Mi Ap - Deboned duck stuffed with sticky rice
Author: Jou Moer
Date:   08-27-09 16:28

I used to have this dish as a kid at special events (weddings, anniversaries, etc ). I Google'd and every link I find goes back to the wikipedia insert, word for word ( or is it the other way around?)

If anyone has a recipe I would be eternally grateful.

Thank you very much for this link. I will try it when I feel adventurous. I notice they assume you know how to debone the chicken.

I posted the question in Chowhound Toronto and actually found a restaurant in Toronto (Scarborough) that serves both deboned duck and deboned chicken stuffed with sticky rice. You need to give them 24 hours notice.

When I went to place the order for deboned duck the owner convinced me to try the deboned chicken instead and it was an excellent choice. Next time though I will try the duck.

Deboned whole fresh chicken is available but costs more & only sold at some farms.

Since the photo is from a Portland restaurant I assume that's where you live. I live in Toronto and will do a search of local farms/butchers to see if any sell deboned chicken but would be very surprised if they do.

Hi Jou,

Would you have the restaurant's name or address? I don't live in Toronto but do go visit the city on and off. I sure would like to try that dish!

Thanks,

Bill

It is Maple Yip in Scarborough - on Sheppard between Kennedy and McCowan. They do not have a website but here is a link.
