Hello,
I may easily point out the venue, but sometime it's rather hard to describe about the journey, unless of course you understand[ fairly well ] about TCM's concepts and principals.
Somehow, in TM point of view, such symptom is directly or indirectly link to the liver - as the liver［ & kidney ] meridian passes through that part of region.
The flow of 'qi' in the meridian may have been hindered, hence causing it to swell, ache and etc..
Ask your physician; I believe [s]he is willing to share.
