Cut the Eating to Control Diabetes

Eating too much aggravates a person diabetic condition.

A dietitician told me the best and most natural way to control blood glucose level is to cut down the eating in especially of sweet and starchy food.

He recommended to cut the number of meals and the amount of eating by first one third and see the effect on blood sugar. Cut yet another third if necessary to achieve the acceptable blood sugar level at just before mealtime.

In other words, if at just before mealtime, morning, noon, or night, the blood sugar level is much too high than acceptable, cut the eating.

If blood sugar level cycles too much, i.e. it goes too high one or two hours after a meal, and too low before a meal, he recommends to eat smaller meals more often. In other words, instead of 3 meals a day, 5 hours apart, change it to a smaller 4 meals a day, 4 hours apart, and yet even smaller meat 5 meals a day at about 3-4 hours apart.

He says that this eating control or meal spacing can be done in conjunction with regiments of medication and exercise.

Is there any thruth in waht the dietitican says to me?

Or shall I go with TCM, the Chinese physician says that while I am on herbal therapy, I muct continue with my western medication? Why the two and not just simply discontinue the western medication?
