What do you guys think of Carreras rendition of "The Red Bean Poem" ?
This is from the novel "Dream of the Red Chamber" aka "The Story of the Stone" by Cao Xueqin, well at least the first 80 chapters of it. There have been at least 3 movie versions based on this multi layered detailed insight of the declining fortunes of a powerful, rich, decadent, excessive, aristocratic family. There is only one main male character and "Hong Lou Meng" has been viewed as a feminist novel in the sense that there are 12 main female protagonists ( 12 Beauties of Jingling) of varying strengths and capabilities.
