From the Hamitic family group, we have two sons of Canaan, namely: Heth(father of Hittite nation) and Sinites.

Hittite in Hebrew is called Khettai. And from Khettai comes the english equivalent Cathay which is the ancient name for China. Some Hittites migrated east of Shinar(east of Euphrates) and settled in China.

Sinim is the biblical name for China. The Sinites migrated east of Shinarhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shinar to Western China, where they founded the ancient Empire of China and gave their name to the land.
