Not trying to demonize a society, culture, or people.

One thing that people from Eastern cultures should realize is that Americans seldom live with their parents. It is expected for adult children to leave home, and only visit for short times. It is considered bad when an American adult lives with his or her parents.
We feel bad for the adult who lives with, and cares for his parents in their old age. Having parents visit is usually O.K. Having parents "move in" can be "very offensive" to the opposing spouse. If the parents try to impose their way of thinking on their children's marriage, their children will be caught in the middle, and this may cause the marriage to fail.

Marriage is difficult enough by itself. If people from different cultures marry, they have accepted this as part of loving their spouse. Then who are these other people telling you what to do in your own house? Of course they should leave, and quickly.

Also remember, America is a western culture. Many things the parents can demand in eastern countries are illegal in America. (Trust me, I know)

We have a saying in America. If you are in Rome, you should act like the Romans do.
So if you come to America................
