As a major source of nutricion I've began growing & eating in their raw state - Chinese green beans which are a major source of enzymes in their semi (beginning) sprouted state. I haven't been sick for over 5 years -and- when feeling like a cold or flu comes - when I drink the extracted juice from the beans - the bad feeling goes away in one day.
I first read about this while reading on the long life of Taoists from pre 12th century sources (in 12th century China began cooking all of the food so as to kill diseases) - then I went searching for information from western sources... In addition - I think that there is a wealth of information lost in relation to Chinese Medicine from this period because of the effect of heat on food...
